What does my membership get me? |
Membership gets you access to check out all tools in
the library for a week at a time. |
Who can be a member? |
To be a member, you must meet the following
requirements: Be at least 18 years old, create an account with complete
information, agree to policies and procedures, no member of your farm or
household may have overdue tools. |
What kind of training is required? |
Some large tools such as the BCS tiller or
woodchipper require a basic safety orientation. This can be completed at the
time of pick up. |
What do I need to bring with me when I come pick up
a reserved item? |
Bring some form of ID at the time of pick up so we can verify your identity or the
person you informed us is picking up on your behalf. |
Can I send someone else to pick up my reserved
tools? |
Yes. You will be asked to list their name when you make your reservation and provide them with the confirmation code you receive. |
What do I do if I can’t come during the pick-up/drop-off
hours? |
We have limited capacity to accommodate tool lending
outside of the tool library’s open hours. Please ask a trusted family member
or friend to pick up your tools for you during open hours. |
Who do I contact if I can’t get a tool running? |
Please contact the manager of the tool library at
913-232-1100. If you are unable to reach them, do not do anything that was
not included in your safety orientation. Stop trying to operate the tool and
wait for guidance from the tool library manager. |
What do I do if a tool gets damaged while I have it? |
In the event that a tool breaks or gets damaged, we
ask that you communicate any issues regarding a tool immediately to the tool
library staff and return all parts of the affected tool to the tool library. If the nature of the damage was improper use and the tool cannot be repaired,
we may requests funds to cover the replacement cost of the tool. |
